The first Scottish Camp Trans happened in September 2024, near Aberfeldy. Cradled by the mountains, far away from cis-society for a weekend, we existed on our own terms and built a world centering care. Far from being a commodified retreat, Camp Trans was a coming together of trans people to rest and restore our strength.
Taking us back to the golden misty mornings, the waterfall and the campfire, this documentary explores how community care, trans ancestry and nature were the pillars of Camp Trans.
The River and The Glen: Camp Trans Scotland The Exhibition is live at Listen Gallery during SQIFF (27th October to 1st November 2025) 2 to 7pm. The exhibition will then travel to Pitlochry from the 16th to 18th of January 2026 as part of Out in The Hills at the Festival theatre.
